Assistant Camp Director – Administration
Home Parish: St. Michael the Archangel, Cotuit, MA
Soraya serves as Assistant Camp Director for Camp St. Joseph, supporting the camp’s administrative and financial operations. At her home parish of St. Michael on Cape Cod, she serves as Outreach Director, helping lead projects that support and serve the local community. She also manages the parish bookstore, a ministry she helped establish in 2016 to support SOYO and its mission. In her professional life, Soraya works as an international supply chain specialist. She is the mother of Mircea and wife to Bogdan Dumitrescu.
What is your favorite Orthodox feast, hymn, or tradition?
PASCHA—it’s what we are made for.
What is your favorite camp activity?
Any of the evening programs. The campers have so much fun and truly let loose. It’s wonderful to see that kind of joy.
What is one thing you hope every camper experiences?
To see Christ in every experience and to be grateful for everything, good or bad. Give glory to God for all things.
What do you love most about camp?
Camp is LOVE. There is no other word. Everything is done in love for one another.
