A Typical Day at Camp

Each day at Camp St. Joseph is thoughtfully balanced between worship, faith-based learning, recreation, and fellowship. Mornings focus on spiritual formation, while afternoons and evenings provide opportunities for campers to enjoy activities, build friendships, and create lasting memories.

Campers gather in age-based groups for lessons and discussions led by counselors and clergy, exploring topics related to Scripture, prayer, Orthodox Christian living, and the life of the Church. These sessions are often paired with engaging activities that help campers apply what they have learned. Throughout the week, campers also enjoy special opportunities to participate in question-and-answer sessions with clergy, including “Ask Sayidna” with Bishop John and “Ask Abouna” with attending priests.

While schedules may vary slightly from day to day, a typical camp day includes:

  • Orthros (Morning Prayers)
  • Breakfast
  • Morning Program Session I – Faith-based lesson, discussion, or activity
  • Morning Program Session II – Faith-based lesson, discussion, or activity
  • Lunch
  • Afternoon Activity I – Camper-selected activity
  • Afternoon Activity II – Camper-selected activity
  • Gimme Shop – Snack and refreshment time
  • Cabin Time – Time to rest, shower, change, and prepare for the evening
  • Vespers
  • Dinner
  • Evening Program – Camp-wide activities such as Color Wars, Carnival Night, Pool Party, and other special events
