Head Female Counselor

Home Parish: St. George Orthodox Church, West Roxbury, MA

Christina serves as Head Female Counselor for Camp St. Joseph, supporting cabin staff before, during, and after camp. She grew up attending Camp Nazareth in the GOA Metropolis of Pittsburgh and has spent many years serving on staff there, in addition to serving at CSJ last summer. She was also an inaugural member of the Orthodox Volunteer Corps in Boston. Christina is currently completing a dual degree program – Master of Social Work and Master in Theology and Ministry – at Boston College while also taking classes at Hellenic College Holy Cross.

What is your favorite Orthodox feast, hymn, or tradition?
The Paraklesis service — O Pure Virgin (especially when chanted in Greek) — and the Feast of the Dormition.

What is your favorite camp activity?
Meals! There’s so much joy, laughter, singing, and bonding—all over a good plate of food!

What is one thing you hope every camper experiences?
A deep sense of belonging and an awareness of the presence of God within their hearts.

What do you love most about camp?
It’s a place where we can let our guard down and be our true selves with each other and with Christ.
